Designers from three current exhibitions at the National Building Museum discuss the creative and collaborative work that transforms ideas into compelling visitor experiences. The program examines how curatorial concepts are translated into immersive spaces through spatial storytelling, thoughtful use of materials, sensory engagement, and careful attention to visitor flow, as well as the fabrication and logistical challenges involved in exhibition design.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The evening features Traci Sym and Daniel Meyers of Plus\u00a0And\u00a0Greater Than, who designed\u00a0<\/span>Building Stories<\/span><\/i>; Wendy Evans Joseph of Studio Joseph, the principal designer of\u00a0<\/span>Visible Vault<\/span><\/i>:<\/span><\/i>\u00a0Open\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Collections\u00a0<\/span><\/i>Storage\u00a0<\/span><\/i>and the\u00a0Visitor Center; and Suchi Reddy of\u00a0Reddymade\u00a0and Sarah Gephart of MGMT, who led the design for\u00a0<\/span>Coming Together: Reimagining America\u2019s Downtowns<\/span><\/i>. A conversation moderated by Cybelle Jones, CEO of the Society for Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD), will highlight the interdisciplinary dialogue that shapes the visitor experience from concept to installation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Traci Sym<\/span><\/b>\u00a0is an\u00a0<\/span>award-winning<\/span>\u00a0designer, performer, and co-founder of Plus\u00a0<\/span>And<\/span>\u00a0Greater Than<\/span>, a design studio known for producing emotionally and intellectually provocative work in collaboration with institutional, educational, historical, and cultural clients and select brands. Their projects span experience design, graphic design across scales, exhibition design, interactive media, product design, and architecture.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Traci is the Past President of the Board of Directors for the Society for Experiential Design, SEGD.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Daniel Meyers, RA<\/span><\/b>\u00a0is an Architect, Exhibition, and Industrial Designer<\/span>, and co-founder of Plus\u00a0<\/span>And<\/span>\u00a0Greater Than. Myers<\/span>\u00a0began his career as a\u00a0<\/span>guitarmaker<\/span>\u00a0and musician.\u00a0<\/span>He\u00a0<\/span>has served as Creative Director in exhibition and digital experience design studios, and advertising agencies, and as an Architect Daniel has led interdisciplinary teams to create groundbreaking projects for leading cultural, commercial, and private clients across the world.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sarah Gephart\u00a0<\/span><\/b>is the principal of MGMT. design, a women-owned graphic design studio based in New York that focuses on cultural, climate-focused, and socially engaged projects. Founded in 2003, MGMT. specializes in creating inclusive, cross-disciplinary work \u2014 developing identities, exhibition design, publications, books, infographics, and interactive experiences.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

S<\/span>UCHI REDDY, FAIA<\/span><\/b>, is an architect and interdisciplinary designer exploring\u00a0<\/span>neuroaesthetics<\/span>\u2014the biological underpinnings of our response to beauty, art, and design. Guided by her philosophy, \u201cform follows feeling,\u201d her work spans\u00a0<\/span>exhibit<\/span>\u00a0design, public art, cultural, healthcare, retail, commercial, and residential projects and\u00a0<\/span>designing for<\/span>\u00a0neurodiversity.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Wendy Evans Joseph<\/span><\/b>, FAIA,\u00a0<\/span><\/b>is a visionary architect\u00a0and founding partner of\u00a0Studio Joseph. With a deep passion for art, culture, and public education, Joseph is\u00a0a leading figure in museum design and exhibition installations. She has been honored with a Rome Prize in Architecture and holds the title of Academician of the National Academy of Design.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cybelle Jones<\/span><\/b>\u00a0is CEO of the Society of Experiential Graphic Design (SEGD), leading the organization in championing experience design that connects people to place. SEGD is a\u00a0nonprofit member community uniting designers of experiences\u00a0around a shared commitment to education, innovation, and design excellence.
